Redbank Motorway Estate is a 140-hectare Industrial Estate based in the Ipswich Local Government Area. This estate is home to Rheinmetall’s armoured vehicle manufacturing facility for the Australian Army, major distribution centres for Australia Post and Coles, and other state-of-the-art industrial facilities.

AT&L designed all the civil engineering elements for the project; including roads, stormwater drainage, earthworks, water supply and sewerage. AT&L were responsible for project management of the wider consultant team, as well as the authority approvals process, client budget and program. We were also involved in contractor procurement, tender management and evaluation. Our site-based staffs are currently completing construction-phase contract administration, superintendency and certification.

AT&L's Scope Included

  • Design included three major trunk stormwater outlets to Brisbane River (up to 3.0m diameter trunk outlet), over 4km of new and upgrade industrial roads
  • Over 800,000m3 bulk earthworks, low pressure and gravity sewerage systems, stormwater box culverts, trunk water main augmentation including tunnel boring underneath an existing Queensland rail line (i.e. Brisbane to Ipswich line)
  • Temporary Coffee Dam, in the Brisbane River, to assist with sediment control
  • Tunnel-boring a section of external sewerage infrastructure, at a depth of 6 metres to the existing receiving sewerage manhole.
